Jawadhu Hills Ultra'2025

Jawadhu Hills Ultra There are things which you take interest in and there are things where you devote yourself to it coz that's more than interest, it's an emotion to you . JHU is something like that to many of us. Here is some vocabulary brush up for the upcoming short part of content coz they deserve the recognition and justice for the work done to be kept as a benchmark in the similar field. Route Reconnaissance or Recce: This is oriented on a specific, narrow line of travel (e.g., a trail, road) to provide information only on conditions along that immediate path and the terrain directly influencing it. Zone Reconnaissance or Recce: It involves obtaining detailed information on all routes, obstacles, terrain, and general conditions within a large, defined zone or area, making it far more comprehensive and time-intensive than a simple route recce. While the CTU recce and simulation of all categories were on full swing, in parallel the core recce team of Chennai Trail Club ...

Chennai Trail Ultra - 2025

Chennai Trail Ultra  Chennai Trail Club will always be close to heart but Chennai Trail Ultra 2025 - was an emotion which we all lived and have been etched in my heart, mind, eyes and it wouldn't be an over hype even when I say, in my soul. Last year's Jawadhu Hills Ultra route marking and a couple of races which I did post that made me a little confident and motivated to join our team for this year's CTU route recce. And it will be an understatement that I was humbled with the dedication and amount of heart they put while doing the recce, just in the 1st recce of this season. That made me even more proud of these guys and I wanted to be a part of the team. I tried to join the team whenever I could, mostly for the recce of 16kms category, considering I haven't reached the stage of doing long distance yet, as in 30+kms. The above statement itself makes me look back and feel pride in realizing how far I have come, thinking that 10kms isn't long distance anymore. Than...

The Silk Route Ultra Trail - 2025

SRUT Narkanda - A Race I Won Beyond the Podium Why SRUT? I signed up for the Silk Route Ultra Trail (SRUT) not for a podium or a medal. I signed up to test myself — to see how far my training, consistency, and nutrition could take me when the terrain turned tough. Earlier that year, I’d committed to a more structured way of showing up — not just on the trail, but in the kitchen, in recovery, in how I fuelled and trained. I had been putting in the work quietly for months, and SRUT felt like the perfect place to bring it all together. Yes, I had done high-altitude before, but SRUT was on a different scale. Snow, long climbs, unpredictable weather… and long hours of solitude. I didn’t sign up for glory. I signed up for proof — that what I was doing mattered, that I was on the right path, and that I could carry my body and mind through something bigger. “When you train in silence, the trail becomes your report card.” And so I went — not to conquer the mountains, but to meet the versio...

The Vagamon ULtrail - 2025

Image
The Vagamon ULtrail After Jawadhu'2024 was done, we immediately decided to line-up the upcoming year - 2025 with some outdoor fun, the first in the list being - The Vagamon ULtrail.  There were 2 categories for me to choose from - 10km and 36km. The next category being 75kms, which of course, was something I left for my husband to conquer 😉  After lots of speculation about my practice required for the possible elevation gain to the qualification criteria (which I did have from a year back), I finally settled to do 10kms as one of my friend was doing her first official run and registered for the 10k category and another friend was bringing her two friends were bringing their 5 year old kids for the very first time. These reasons were enough for me to decide the category.  After this, we registered for the run in said category and Nilesh for the 75kms category.  There were nearly 10+ members who registered for 10kms, around same count for 36kms and only 3 members for...
